The Daily Intention
“No problem can be solved with the same consciousness that created it.”
This is one of the main reasons why the ROOTS process starts with Reset is the fact that we must step out of ourselves, our problems, our thoughts, and analyze how we have found our way to this very moment. In order to build self-awareness and self-understanding, we are going to slow down and take some time for you.
BEGIN YOUR INNER WORK
Welcome to your Habitual Reset. Each section will begin with Engage, which involves questions that we would like you to ask yourself. We will actively engage the mind to stimulate thoughts for deeper connected awareness to your state of being.

BEGINNING YOUR HABITUAL RESET
Flip into your guidebook and find these questions to reflect on:
Setting your intention is integral to keep focus and motivation. You’re beginning this journey with a purpose and it is essential to have this written down to keep you reminded of what you really want. We will guide you, act as a collaborative partner and accountability buddy in and out of each coaching session, however, it is up to you to find the willpower to begin each day with them in mind.

WHAT TO KNOW
Every single one of us had to traumatically learn this ability to breath when we were born. Therefore this is one of the most ingrained automatic behaviors we have created in our mind. Breathing is normally very unconscious due to the power of our subconscious mind. Which our subconscious is 90 to 95 percent of the way we perceive and experience life. Our subconscious drives how we experience life, how we feel and ultimately show up to it.
We will absolutely dive more into this but know that by placing your consciousness and awareness onto your breath, you are opening a door or a bridge to your subconscious mind, allowing you to begin rewriting the story you tell yourself. On that note, let’s take a moment before we begin to drop into this moment with one more deep breath. Allow yourself to connect with the air as you breath in and exhale all things that do not serve you to show up presently on this journey.
The subconscious mind is the powerful secondary system that runs everything in your life. Learning how to stimulate the communication between the conscious and the subconscious minds is a powerful tool on the way to success, happiness and riches.
The subconscious mind is a data-bank for everything, which is not in your conscious mind. It stores your beliefs, your previous experience, your memories, your skills. Everything that you have seen, done or thought is also there.
We will introduce the powers of the subconscious mind and how they can be used on the way to success. You will learn how to communicate better with your subconscious and how to set it on the track you want it to follow.
Before we go any futher, realize that your subconscious mind does not know time nor place. It does not know what this device is that you are using to read this, it does not know what the room is that you are in. What it does know is how you feel at this present moment and now at this present moment.
TAKE A MOMENT TO APPRECIATE
HOW DO WE LEARN?
Through the Neural Network
A population of Neurons interconnected to carry out specific functions when activated. An information highway in our mind to assist us in delivering our functions in the most efficient way.
Once your brain thinks it has figured it out, it then makes assumptions and forms connections/relationships with other neurons. Thus creating the channel between one neuron to the other to create the most optimal neural pathway.
Throughout life, the brain will make more and more connections related to this topic
The more connections associated with this, the easier it is for the brain to continue to linking other similar experiences in this neural network.
That is what the brain does, it's one motivation is to optimize our life in respect to what we plant into it. The brain objectively creates, it does not care whether something is perceived as good or bad. It will just take the inputted information and apply it into it's subconscious conditioning and thus into a habit.
TAKE A MOMENT TO BREATHE
We adapt into our environment. Your brain is a garden. You can plant what you want, it doesn’t matter. It is going to remember, store it, & reference it when the same kind of experience reoccurs.
The key thing to remember is that your brain or mental garden does not know the difference between a weed or a flower. All it knows is what you water or the experience you allow to reoccur time and time again.
Your brain's main objective is to make life easier for you
Ultimately anything you say, do, think, or feel
Throughout life, the brain will make more and more connections related to this topic.
The more connections associated with this, the easier it is for the brain to continue to linking other similar experiences in this neural network
Simply: Our brain cells communicate with one another via synaptic transmission–one brain cell releases a chemical (neurotransmitter) that the next brain cell absorbs.
This communication process is known as “neuronal firing.” When brain cells communicate frequently, the connection between them strengthens.
Messages that travel the same pathway in the brain over & over begin to transmit faster & faster.
With enough repetition, they become automatic. That’s why we practice things like hitting a golf ball–with enough practice, we can go on automatic pilot.
HABIT CREATION PROCESS
Good habits can be hard to form and bad ones hard to break, but if you know how they work you'll have an easier time making them work for you.
Over time, this loop… becomes more and more automatic. The cue and reward become intertwined until a powerful sense of anticipation and craving emerges.
Want to exercise more? Choose a cue, such as going to the gym as soon as you wake up, and a reward, such as a smoothie after each workout. Then think about that smoothie, or about the endorphin rush you'll feel. Allow yourself to anticipate the reward. Eventually that craving will make it easier to push throughout the gym doors every day.
It's a pretty simple process, but one the brain easily responds to. If you're looking to create some better habits, or dump some old ones, this is a very simple way to make those behavioral changes a lot easier.
If the reward is positive, then you want to repeat the action the next time you perceive the same cue. With time, this will form a new habit

CONNECTING THE HEART & MIND
Let's start by defining the two terms in order to understand what they mean and how they differ. IQ, or intelligence quotient, is a number derived from a standardized intelligence test. On the original IQ tests, scores were calculated by dividing the individual's mental age by his or her chronological age and then multiplying that number by 100.
So, a child with a mental age of 15 and a chronological age of 10 would have an IQ of 150. Today, scores on most IQ tests are calculated by comparing the test taker's score to the average scores of other people in the same age group.
Since the 1990s, emotional intelligence has made the journey from a semi-obscure concept found in academic journals to a popularly recognized term. Today, you can buy toys that claim to help boost a child's emotional intelligence or enroll your kids in social and emotional learning (SEL) programs designed to teach emotional intelligence skills. In some schools in the United States, social and emotional learning is even a curriculum requirement.

WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE?
Alfred Binet was a French psychologist who invented the first practical IQ test. In 1905, the French Ministry of Education asked psychologist Alfred Binet to create a method that would determine which students did not learn effectively from regular classroom instruction so they could be given remedial work.
NOW, WHAT IS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE?
A way to measure how a person recognizes emotions within themselves and others, and manages these emotional states to work better as a team.
In his 1996 book Emotional Intelligence, author and psychologist Daniel Goleman suggested that EQ (or emotional intelligence quotient) might actually be more important than IQ. Why? Some psychologists believe that standard measures of intelligence (i.e. IQ scores) are too narrow and do not encompass the full range of human intelligence.
Instead of focusing on a single, general intelligence, usually referred to as the g factor, some experts believe that the ability to understand and express emotions can play an equal if not more important role in how people fare in life.

APPLIED EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
While IQ is useful for predicting academic success, until recently they only measured someone's ability to handle information in the abstract—disregarding any other skills or abilities.
CAN EQ BE LEARNED?
HOW EQ WORKS
TO BEGIN BUILDING EQ
It begins with personal Self-Awareness. Realize that our Mind, Thoughts, & Actions have been influenced by our environment.
Understanding Your Emotional Frequency/Climate.
WE ARE CREATURES OF HABIT
Like a file cabinet, our brain will see something and immediately relate it to other files we store in our mind. Ultimately familiarizing what is in front of us with and making sense of it. How have we seen this before?
THE TETRIS EFFECT
ThisAs you have come to see, our brain is quite powerful and is here to make our lives more efficient. With the Tetris Effect you may easily come to realize how many parts of our habits and patterns stem from this understanding.
In 1984, a software engineer named Alexey Pajitnov came up with a simple game that took the world by storm.
Obsessed with puzzles, Pajitnov imagined a scenario where he could assemble shapes in a box. These boxes would fall from the sky and would be altered by the player to fit as nicely as possible into the box. This became the game we today as Tetris.
What happened next was unexpected. Tetris lovers played the game so much they started seeing it everywhere. For awhile, such thoughts were dismissed as symptoms of gaming addiction, but researchers eventually became to take notice of this phenomenon.
Stickgold's experiment started with his team paying students to play Tetris for several hours each night before turning in. Of these students, 60 percent reported seeing Tetris pieces floating in their vision as they drifted off to sleep. Even in their waking moments, these images would involuntarily appear.
One player was shopping at a supermarket and started to notice how one set of cereal boxes could fit perfectly on the row below it. Another player started wondering if buildings would fit nicely between each other if they were rotated or flipped.
What the Tetris Effect identifies is that the more you do something day to day, it will begin to influence the way you perceive and experience life itself. The more you think, act, feel, or do something more frequently will begin to impact the way you attract or approach moments and opportunities.
What does this mean for you?
MENTAL HABITS CAUSED THE TETRIS EFFECT.
WE HAVE HABITS IN PLACE THAT SKEW THE WAY WE THINK AND FEEL.
YOUR PERCEPTION IS UNIQUE
With the Tetris Effect, let's see how this may apply to the different roles or occupations in our society and thus ultimately other areas of our lives.
Imagine a waiter or a waitress going to another restaurant. You bet several of their thoughts will be focused on the experience had at this restaurant. The way the restaurant functions, the way the server delivers the experience, etc. All due to the fact that in their normal day to day functions as a waiter or waitress tends to blend into the way they perceive and experience life. Now this may go beyond just their experience at a restaurant but even more so in several other areas of their life with friends, family, romantic partners, etc.
If this has the ability to influence a waiter or waitress, imagine the perception of people who are educated and conditioned for years around a specific practice or understanding.
For a doctor or even a lawyer the Tetris effect may even have more of an influence on their unique perceptions to life and how they show up to situations whether with family, friends, and or strangers. How they perceive health, how they perceive choices, actions, and decisions.
Now when you begin to see this in the macro level of the entire human experience and realize that your perception is unique.
TAKE A MOMENT TO SEND LOVE
How to see the inner you.
In this moment here and now, begin to sense love from your heart grow. Begin to sense happiness and joy. As you notice the sense of these emotions, where do you feel it?
As the door opens with the awareness of your Emotional Awareness it widens for not just the positive but also with the negative. With the conditioning of our upbringing, negative thoughts are no surprise to the story we may tell ourselves.
Though ruminating on these negative thoughts are what will drive the emotional frequency to shift into states of awareness we may not want to be in.
WHAT ARE RUMINATIONS?
Deep or considered thought about something
When you truly come to realize that your subconscious, your internal world does not know time nor place. So when you ruminate your are taking yourself into a place that is not in the present but more so in a moment that may have existed, does not exist, or may not ever exist.
Rumination is a powerful thing when you come to realize it being an influence to the neural pathways that fire and wire together. As you place your awareness in this ruminated thought you are create a familarity with this. Thus allowing your brain and body to actually prepare for this thought to come to life.
Before we are able to express how to remove these ruminations we must first seek to understand more of how they are created.
HOW ARE RUMINATIONS CREATED?
Ruminations whether postive or most commonly negative are built around three main factors that occur during our journey in life. It can happen in a moment or extend across a lifetime.
How may you see the worst thing as the best thing that has happened?
To begin creating the first step is to define where it is your awareness brings you to. Define what moment, experience, or emotion that your mind spirals to. Allow yourself to measure this even. Understand the length at which you may have had the rumination(s).
Tap into the root of this rumination through processing the nature of where it stems from. Analyze what comes to mind in relational to the experience, or emotion in that moment. Understand the origin of the thought(s).
Sense what is in most alignment to your authentic self. Verify the affirmations that show up frequently in the space of your mind. Understand the authenticity of the thought(s).
With these resources you may apply them into your daily practices. Integrating these into each moment to really understand the thoughts that come up and influence the way you experience life.
What does this mean for you?
